Imagery Manipulation

Below show images where I have been manipulating the long (tail-like) repeat-structure from before. I did this simply by using the scanner, which took the shape into interesting distortion and gave a variety of of lines to cut up and fold with. I wanted to start manipulating my imagery digitally (scanning/photocopying) because with my own drawings, I find that when it was folded the line of the shape is not as bold as I want it to be. So, in doing it this way I am hoping for some great results.
Scanned image.

I'm dividing the forms up now and viewing them just as they are, as I find I can move and adjust them  better unlike the tail structures, which once glued, there's not much else I can do because they are so delicate and big. I prefer working small scale and seeing where I go on from here.

Here I've outlined with a marker pen, along where the different corners would be - becomes bolder.

Same techniques but with different paper and using colours that naturally come out from scanning an image.

Playing around with the scanner again, using photocopied tracing paper imagery and layering it up, then folding.
